Declaration of beneficial ownership

A beneficial owner is a person who owns or controls more than 20% shareholding in a company but who may not be the registered shareholder listed in the company’s register of members. It may also mean any individual or group of individuals who, either directly or indirectly, has the power to vote or influence the transaction decisions regarding a specific security, such as shares in a company and the law requires that a company declares its beneficial owners.
